| Gorleston CCTV is
supported by the local community, it was only possible to
commence in October 2007 by the support of the business people
in Gorleston Town Centre. The initial funding was supplied by
EnterpriseGY but this had to be supported by the local
businesses. Enough initial funding was raised to help launch
Gorleston CCTV but with no public funding available from the
local council or other authorities further funding is an ongoing
task. All donations that have been received at Gorleston CCTV goes towards maintenance of the cameras, public liability costs, insurance, electrical costs and other sundries. The annual cost of this runs into thousands of pounds. Without the continued support from the local business industry then Gorleston CCTV will cease to operate. The company are constantly searching for external funding which could help, the company are non profit making so all donations are spent within the town of Gorleston and in support of the Gorleston CCTV project. The aim when sufficient funding is available is to expand the camera system and have further coverage; we are currently looking at expansion to the sea front area of Gorleston. Any donation will have a significant impact on the success and sustainability of Gorleston CCTV.
